英検2級でも、聞き取れないことはある。

英検2級を持っていても、外国人に突然話しかけられると聞き取れない。

そんな経験があっても、自分の英語を全部否定しないでほしい。

Even with Eiken Grade 2, it can be hard to understand a stranger who suddenly speaks to you. And that doesn't mean your English is "bad."

私は英検を10年間教えてきました。

その中で一番おもしろいと感じているのは、

「英検の勉強ができること」と「英検を勉強した人らしく話せること」は、

まったく別のスキルだということ。

合格した生徒さんほど、「どうして話せないんだろう」と自分を責めてしまいます。

でも、それは本当によくあることなんです。

I've taught Eiken for 10 years, and the most interesting thing I've learned is this: studying for Eiken and speaking like someone who has studied Eiken are two different skills. The students who pass are often the hardest on themselves, and it's completely normal.

🌱 その場ですぐ答えること

Real conversation means natural speed, unfamiliar accents, surprise questions, and answering in real time.

つまり、「英語力がない」のではありません。

会話の練習が、まだ少し足りないだけ。

そして、それはちゃんと練習できます。

So it's not that you "can't do English." You just haven't had enough practice for real conversations yet, and that's something we can practise together. 💛
